In response to this demand, Quantum Systems is proud to support the Australian Army with Vector AI, an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) uncrewed aerial system (UAS) delivering AI-powered ISR capability with unmatched flexibility, endurance, and precision.
Vector AI is the latest evolution of the proven Vector platform, operationally deployed in Ukraine. Its real-world experience sets it apart from traditional small UAS platforms, offering a solution designed not only for intelligence gathering but also for survivability and adaptability in contested environments.
The platform’s compact design and quiet operation make it highly suitable for stealthy, small-unit deployments, while its mid-range endurance (up to 180 minutes) provides sufficient time for mission-critical intelligence capture. With a wingspan of 2.8 metres and a maximum take-off weight of under 10 kilograms, Vector AI is easy to deploy, launch, and recover, even in challenging terrain.
The system reduces operator cognitive load through features such as object detection, and smart tracking. This real-time data processing ensures that units can respond to threats and targets with speed and precision. The onboard AI also enables target classification, offering enhanced support for decision-making at the tactical level.
Vector AI is part of a unique 2-in-1 system that shares the same avionics, ground control system, and payload suite with its multicopter counterpart. This modular approach enables greater operational flexibility while reducing training, logistics, and lifecycle costs. The quick-change capability between fixed-wing and multicopter configurations allows users to adapt to rapidly changing mission requirements without additional hardware investment.
A core priority for the Quantum Systems’ Australian manufacturing facility is contributing to sovereign capability. With local assembly and testing now underway at our Redbank facility in Queensland, the first Australian-produced Vector AI systems will soon be rolling out to support operational and evaluation needs.
