Registered on the NATO database for defence logistics (NMCRL), EMALTE’s Thunder Tone Warning System is a unique, portable mass notification solution. Its portability means that it can be offloaded from an aircraft or vehicle by forklift or demobilised and relocated to another site when required. Furthermore, due to its wide support base, levelling system and lock-in, adjustable leg mechanism, the Thunder Tone can be deployed on uneven surfaces and varied ground cover. After unloading and positioning, this intelligent warning system can be fully operational within half an hour.

Fully tested in all types of terrain and weather conditions, the renowned Whelen (USA) engineered speakers boast a low coefficient of drag, enabling the system to withstand wind gusts of up to 100kph.

What sets the Thunder Tone system apart from other warning systems is the fully encrypted voice and data transmission which provides maximum protection from cyber-attacks and interference. In the event of hostility or any other emergency situation, the Thunder Tone delivers loud audible alerts to scattered personnel and citizens. Encrypted alerts and messages can be heard clearly from a radius of up to 732m at 70dBc. A set of fit-for-purpose, pre-recorded messages can be stored in the system.

Another significant feature of Thunder Tone is that it is seamlessly integrated with a central command centre which can control a number of dispersed units simultaneously – a valuable attribute when time is critical.

Thunder Tone is powered by batteries and charged by solar panels. Due to the high-power deep discharge batteries, the unit can function up to a period of 7 days without sunlight  bringing peace of mind when functional operation is vital.

A noteworthy optional inclusion of the warning system is an integrated camera which is
positioned on top of the Mast and can provide 360 degrees surveillance. Hemispherical observation, detection of unwanted intruders, drones, fire, road and runway debris are some of the many possible applications of the camera.
