ADF personnel are deployed on Operation Flood Assist 22-2 as part of the Australian Government’s response to flooding in NSW and Victoria.
Personnel, equipment and high-clearance vehicles are supporting emergency authorities in assisting affected communities. Support broadly comprises flood preparation activities such as sand bagging, welfare checks, evacuation support, transport, logistics resupply, access assistance and initial recovery (including clean-up) support.
The ADF continues to work closely with National Emergency Management Australia in monitoring potential floods across the community.
The ADF remains postured to provide additional support to State Emergency Services should a request be received via National Emergency Management Australia.
- As at November 28, about 60 ADF personnel with high clearance and heavy vehicles and plant equipment are providing support to emergency authorities in the central-west NSW region. Areas supported have included Canowindra, Eugowra, Parkes, Condobolin, Forbes, Molong, Warroo, Corinella, Bedgerebong, Eubalong, Hillston and Lake Cargelligo.
- The ADF remains postured to respond to any future requests for assistance.
